Pride Without Permission

Niagara’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community deserves more than visibility when it’s convenient — and more than being reduced to a handful of events. Right now, there is no consistent, meaningful platform telling our stories — our lives, our struggles, our resilience, our wins.

So I’m done waiting. If the space doesn’t exist, I’ll help build it.

Using my platforms — here and elsewhere — I’m opening the door to share real stories from across our community.

➜ No corporate sponsors. No pressure to sanitize your truth. No watered-down, “safe for donors” messaging.

Just real people, real experiences, and real voices.

If you are trans, queer, or gay and you have a story that needs to be heard — I want to hear from you.

Here’s how this will work:

  1. You can share your story in your own words, or I can help shape it with you,
  2. You can choose to be named, anonymous, or somewhere in between,
  3. Stories may be shared as written pieces, interviews, or photo-based features,
  4. Your voice stays yours — nothing gets published without your consent.

This is about creating something real. Something honest. Something that reflects *all* of us — not just what’s marketable.

We don’t need permission to exist — and we don’t need sponsors to speak.

  • Because representation should mean more than branding.
  • Because community should mean more than events.

It’s time #Niagara had a platform that uses its reach responsibly — and actually tells the truth.

Message me. Let’s start telling our stories.

MORE INFORMATION COMING LATER THIS YEAR.

On The Myth of Canadian Exceptionalism

This is not an argument that Canada is Mississippi in 1964—but no society arrives at that point by accident. The same dynamics are visible here at home. They surface in the normalization of hateful rhetoric online and in public spaces across Canada, including here in Niagara. Those advancing this rhetoric often insist they are merely…

On My Fight with the NRPS

Until now, I have carried this case largely on my own. I authored the original complaint. I survived the first major procedural hurdle. I researched and drafted a comprehensive response to the NRPS “defence”—a document prepared by a team of taxpayer-funded lawyers with decades of combined experience. I met the system where it stood, with…

On Not Disappearing

I am not good at making lifelong friends. My record is uneven, marked by distance and missed chances. Going stealth would have only deepened that pattern. More importantly, it would have meant abandoning the mercy, empathy, and action shown by the people who stood beside me. I needed their proximity—not just their support, but their…
