Still Here Anyway

Still Here Anyway is about persistence.

Over the last few years there has been a noticeable rise in anti-trans rhetoric — in politics, online, and in everyday life. Much of it is built on misinformation, fear, and the idea that trans people are somehow new, controversial, or temporary.

But the truth is much simpler than that.

Trans people have always existed. Long before the current wave of headlines, debates, and culture-war talking points, people were already doing the quiet and often difficult work of learning who they were and living honestly.

This song came from reflecting on that reality. The idea that no matter how loud the hostility becomes, it can’t erase something that has always been part of the human story.

The imagery in the song compares that persistence to the ocean — waves striking the same cliffs again and again. The water never disappears, and the cliffs endure even as they’re shaped over time. Both remain.

That’s what resilience looks like.

You can deny people’s existence. You can try to push us out of public life. You can pretend we don’t belong.

But the truth keeps returning. And we’re still here anyway.

The only “trans agenda” is simply to exist.

TR#2: “Still Here Anyway

Verse 1

They shout from podiums and glowing screens
Turning fear into machines
Calling truth a threat again
Trying hard to erase our names

Pre-Chorus

They thought the tide would turn against us
Thought the storm would wash us away

Chorus

You can rise like a thousand waves
Crash your anger on my face
But cliffs are carved by time and grace
And I’m still here anyway

You chipped away at who I am
Tried to grind me down to sand
But all you made was coastline
And I’m still here anyway

Bridge

You carved at my edges
But you never broke the stone
Every wave that tried to claim me
Only shaped the strength I own

Verse 2

The sun climbs over open water
Every dawn rewrites the story
You tried to end

Chorus

You can rise like a thousand waves
Crash your anger on my face
But cliffs are carved by time and grace
And I’m still here anyway
You chipped away at who I am
Tried to grind me down to sand

But all you made was coastline
And I’m still here anyway
